The foundation to this principle is based on the belief that Love is the core nature of us all. Our true self or essence which underlies our existence beyond ego is a little piece of the Divine, here to experience this life and its lessons. We are Spiritual Beings having a human experience. Unconditional love and unending forgivingness reside within each of us.
If that is true then why are so many unhappy or suffering? According to the Buddha, all suffering, large and small, starts with the false belief in a solid and separate “I.” As Spiritual Beings, it is important for us to realize that we each have free will to make mistakes, take risks, and face our fears and doubts as part of the human learning experience. When we learn life's lessons, we are constantly changing, moving and transcending ourselves.
Do you love to learn new things and feel the sudden awareness about something that was vague before? Do you love nature and sense there must be an underlying order to the universe? Do you love knowledge and feel that life somehow must make sense? Do you love truth and feel that there must be a reality beyond the many belief systems? Do you love something deep within yourself and feel that there must be more to your own being than what you have been told?
Congratulations to those who answered YES! Consider yourself awake and pursuing your life's spiritual journey. Just the same, expect to find yourself in the throes of balancing the physical and spiritual energies that comprise your whole being. Some days the desire of one essence over another or the imbalance when choosing one over the other may drive you to extreme confusion and dysfunction. Universal law is all about creating and maintaining harmony and balance in all aspects of life.
