Listening to your Spirit Team

Everyone has a Spirit Team to guide, comfort, protect and reassure us along our earthly journey.  They help us awaken to the essence already vibrating inside us. They help us translate universal knowledge into personal wisdom. They help us see things in a new light. They channel the universe and then step out of the way.  


For many this is not a new revelation because they have seen, heard or felt the presence of many spirit entities from birth to present day.  For others who are still waiting to make the connection let the secret be revealed.  

 

I surrender to my heart, my inner spirit. Namaste.

 

Our impulse "to do" in order to stifle that inner voice may keep us hovering above the ground of being -- the space in which to "be." Ignoring the inner voice whether that be through relentless perfectionism, ruthless self-criticism, or blatant disregard for the body’s need of nourishment makes for a bumpy journey. The body lets you know when things are headed down the wrong path. Like a toddler, it throws tantrums when it knows its needs are not being met; it gets sick, it gets injured and achy, it holds its breath and tension until it gets what it wants.  Learning to listen to the body’s cues are the first steps to connecting to your spirit team.  To start, just listen. You don’t need to be seeking any specific answers at the moment. Take a breath, relax and ask, “What am I feeling?”  Now begin to hear the hum inside your heart.  Be quiet.  In the still of the moment know connection is achieved.

 

Learning to listen to the inner voice is inherently scary for many.  Because by nature it means having faith in yourself. Being open to all vibrations within range, with an open heart, opens the inner voice to something greater. For some it’s God. For some it’s Mother Nature.  For some it’s guiding forces from the Universe and the many magical ways all work in meaningful coincidences. 

 

Regularly ask yourself about your daily habits, your nature, reactions to others, and your interests. There are no right or wrong answers.  Or dig a bit deeper and reflect on such questions as:

 

What is your idea of a perfect day?
When did you cry the last time and why?
What, according to you is a sensitive topic that should not be joked about?
Of all the people in your family, who do you like the most, fear the most, dread the most, honor the most?
Who is your hero in life and what qualities of him/her you desire the most?
How did you fall in love the first time?
If you died tonight, would you think you have lived your life to the fullest?
