Spring Cleaning

If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them. Henry David Thoreau

Each of us has a story. This story is the journey we call our life, and within that life is a unique energy that is you. It is that which calls to you deeply from your emotional and spiritual center. It may be a secret, yet undiscovered by you – but it calls to you just the same.

It is your connection to the Divine, it’s that which makes your inner light shine. If you haven’t found it yet, listen quietly, deeply to your inner Self. In between all the things that are going on in your life, you will hear it – in moments of silence, solitude or when you are at peace; the harmonious notes of your inner Self may be recognized.

Are you awake to the lessons each person you encounter brings to you? These lessons may be contained in a moment of simple kindness or courtesy, a smile or shared laughter, or something far greater. Sometimes people, moments, or experiences come to help us find our true Self.

If there is an area in your life where you have not been following through you may have confused the important stuff with the urgent stuff. Countless things demand your attention right now. The stuff that you devote most of your time to daily is urgent.

“Are you listening?” There is another way to run your life—a more satisfying one. It is time for spring cleaning.

  • Quiet your mind. Relax and breathe. Think about you. What is truly important to you?

  • Think about the things you are doing every day. Write them down. Filling every second of your day--from the moment you wake up to the minute you fall asleep may not contribute to your long-term meaning.

Put in your schedule important activities that match your life’s priorities. And it is so.
